Grace. Faith. Scripture.
Welcome to Grace Lutheran Church.
We are a confessional, liturgical congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
We are Biblical. We believe in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, as revealed to us in the Bible. Jesus Christ, the Son of God, became man to suffer and die in our place, taking our sin upon Himself. This is the heart of the Gospel, that “we preach Christ crucified” (1 Corinthians 1:23). We believe, teach, and confess the Word of God in its truth and purity (AC VII).
We are Sacramental. As baptized children of God, we gather for the Divine Service every Sunday to receive the life and salvation which Christ won for us on the cross. We hear Law and Gospel proclaimed in His Word and we receive the Lord’s Supper—Christ’s body and blood in, with, and under the bread and wine for the forgiveness of sins.
We are Liturgical. That is, we retain the form of worship handed down to us through the ages. The liturgy is the form through which God gives and we receive. We rejoice in the rich heritage of chant, hymns, and traditional church music that we have inherited and that we pass on to the next generation. In our services, we use the historic liturgy as found in the Lutheran Service Book.
We are Lutheran. We are heirs of the 16th century Reformation, when Martin Luther rediscovered the Gospel—that we are saved by grace alone through faith in Christ. But we trace our roots all the way back to the Early Church. Grace Lutheran Church is a member congregation of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
